GeckoPwr IV Motor Connector Pin Assignments

There are separate connectors for each X, Y and Z stepper motor.

The individual motor connectors are female DB9,

Connections for motor phase circuits, there are home limit switch input and +5 Volt output.

Pins 1 and 6 are not connected to anything internally.

Pins 2 and 3 are for Phase A and B of the motor.

Pins 4 and 5 are for the Phase C and D of the motor windings.

Pin 7 is +5 Volts for powering active home limit switches.

Pin 8 is home limit switch sense input, there is a pull up to the motor power. Normally 1.2 Volts will be read between ground and this pin, the LED in a optoisolator is being turned on all the time, until the switch closes and shorts the input. This makes the circuit very resistant to electrical noise.

Pin 9 is ground the return side of the switch.

Stepper Motors with Unipolar windings can also be used.
